As a studio potter I have been trained to create work with functionality as my top priority. However, these vessels are an experimentation of process and form, they challenge my work as utilitarian objects. With each vessel, my focus is on fluidity, femininity, and form. Together, these vases harmonize as a collection, alone they stand elegantly in space. I invite my audience to ponder the relationship between art and function just as I have been challenged to ponder my perspective on why I create the work that I do.
